About the Brand

Laurie Freivogel is the artist behind Kiku Handmade, a glass studio located just outside Chicago, Illinois.

Her work blends influences from pop culture, pattern, and nature with a deep appreciation for mid-century modern and Japanese design. The name Kiku comes from the Japanese word for chrysanthemum, a flower long associated with beauty, longevity, and craftsmanship.

Using fine enamels and layered glass techniques, Laurie screen prints imagery onto glass and kiln-forms each piece to create depth, color, and texture. Her bold graphic style pairs striking imagery with a carefully curated palette of glass colors.

While visually expressive, her work is also meant to be used and enjoyed. Each piece is designed as a functional object — something that brings a bit of art, personality, and conversation to everyday moments.
